How appropriate. This was one of the longest works of art I was making Around 2 years, of course on and off. This one is filled with my tears. And I am not talking metaphorically. Yes, tears. This is the second painting I managed to create after the loss of my fiance. The first one was \"Tears Forest\". You see the pattern. I thought I would never paint again. It was something he supported and encouraged the most. So without him, it just didn't make any sense! So when I decided to try again, it was hard, and I was crying almost the whole process. And because it was so painful, it took me ages to finish because I was doing small bits here and there when I could. I couldn't make myself consistent. Even holding a brush was hard. The centre part of the painting ended up being a heart, a broken one. I made the \"wound cut\" from raffia that was used in packing the box that would hold our wedding rings... I cried even more... \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eSo, those tears ended up in the paint, in the canvas. After a long time, I started painting more often, but, left this one on the side. wasn't sure I would ever finish it. But as time went by, I did. And on my birthday, I decided it was ready for varnish. That means it is done. In a way, this one helped me get back into it. Poured my heart and the pain into it. It is maybe a simple heart, but it is soo much more... Maybe the proper name would be, Love and not pain, but, it is pain as well, and it made more sense to me... I had love, mazing love. The best kind in the whole world. So what is grief than love that has nowhere to go? So, my love was poured into this painting, my grief, my unbearable pain, sadness, happiness that I had experienced that kind of love... Everything! This is one of the paintings I don't like... It represents all the bad feelings I had at the moment of creating it. Mainly anger, Anger and sadness at the same time. After experiencing loss, unbearable loss, I couldn't paint anymore. For a long time. Thought I would never paint again. But. Life has a strange way of proving you wrong... So I tried again. And I did this. Didn't intend it to go this way... But nothing other than \"crying eyes\" would go out of my brush. I was frustrated because it looked really weird when I started. It looked scary, depressing. So it took months for me to try and do something out of this. But it just went in the direction \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eof even more eyes, even more tears. I didn't understand, and, my first reaction was that I would never be any good again. I lost my love, my one person who meant everything to me, so I lost my art. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOnly later I realised, I hadn't lost it, it was me. Raw. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWithout \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ethe mask of \"I am strong\", \"I'm ok\", \"I'm fine\". I wasn't. I don't think I will ever be. And I am just in the middle of accepting this. It is ok. so, decided to take this one, and instead of pushing it aside I ended up varnishing it. Also on my birthday. Like the one titled \"Pain\". How appropriate, again. Don't want to hide the truest pieces. It is me, I had the most amazing love, one in a million... And lost it. Started as completely black and built up from it into whites and a few accents of blue, red and gold. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe idea for a song again comes from Stinćs song: \"We Work the Black Seam\" from his debut solo album in 1985. I love that alum, and while listening to that song it just instinctively I painted something black.
