Artists commentary on "Blooming in the Purple Shadows":
This was painted mostly in the evenings, which is why I added shadows. But, wanted to paint something purple, with very soft, liquid paint. It ended up being a flower. I feel the touch of yellow just brings out the feeling of the flower being alive and just love it.
